The Governors of Jonglei and Boma have been summoned to Juba following a deadly attack in Duk Payuel County in Jonglei.
A statement signed by First Vice President Taban Deng Gai says the two governors are needed to provide a clear understanding why a peace deal signed between the Murle and Dinka-Bor communities in May continues to be violated.
At least 44 people including women and children were killed and several head of cattle looted by armed attackers on Tuesday morning.
Meanwhile, the UN Mission in South Sudan is working to send an integrated peacekeeping patrol to the scene of the deadly attack in Duk Payiel.
UNMISS spokesperson Daniel Dickinson says the team will consist of a peacekeeping patrol and human rights monitors.
