South Kordofan identifies 40 villages for voluntary return: commissioner

October 12, 2018 (KHARTOUM) – The government of South Kordofan State said it has identified 40 villages for voluntary return pointing to the return of large numbers of residents from the rebel-controlled areas.
The semi-official SMC has quoted the state humanitarian aid commissioner Khidir Tawil as saying three committees including inside the state and at the federal level and abroad were formed to facilitate the voluntary return efforts.

74,000 IDPs return to original villages in South Kordofan: HAC

September 24, 2018 (KHARTOUM) The Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC) in South Kordofan said 74,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) have returned to their original villages in the state during the previous period.

South Kordofan collects 5,000 illicit weapons: governor

August 15, 2018 (KHARTOUM) – The security committee in South Kordofan State said it has collected more than 5,000 illegal weapons pointing out that 2,500 arms have been legalized so far.
During a meeting with Vice-President Hassabo Abdel-Rahman in Kadougli on Tuesday, South Kordofan governor and head of the security committee pointed to ongoing work to officially register the remaining 2500 arms.

192,000 people returned to South Kordofan since 2017: official

Red Cross to resume humanitarian activities in South Kordofan

September 13, 2017 (KHARTOUM) – A delegation from the International Committee for the Red Cross (ICRC) has arrived in Kadugli, South Kordofan capital to discuss the resumption of the organisation’s activity in the region.

SLM-MM says they clashed with government forces in West Kordofan
