5 ways your harming your body by drinking soda everyday

Go slow on sodas

Taking soda every now and then is okay, but taking it every other day is quite detrimental to your health.

And, not just soda but also drinks with added sugars. You will find some people taking soda every single day, especially after meals, instead of water. However, one or two sodas a day is not good for your health and here’s why.

1. Weight gain.

There’s a reason why obesity rate is so high nowadays and it’s simply because of the bad eating habits. We will go to a fast food restaurant, stuff ourselves with burgers and sodas nearly every other day. This then causes an influx of calories and sugar. A small can of soda for instance, has approx 150 calories and 40 grams of sugar and this obviously means taking too much soda will lead to weight gain.

 

2. Causes Diabetes.

Soda causes your blood sugar to spike and sends your pancreases into an overdrive, producing insulin to metabolize all that sugar. In the long run, this can lead to type 2 Diabetes.

3. Low sperm count.

The Rochester Young Men’s Study examined 189 men from Rochester University and found that those who took sweetened drinks like soda more had a lower sperm count.

4. Teeth rot.

Soda has sugar which is bad for the teeth, we all know that. Now, to make matters worse, the acidity of carbonated beverages destroys the teeth enamel. Soda leeches Calcium from the teeth which then causes teeth to decay. So if you still want to have teeth in future, you might wanna go slow on the sodas.

5. Slow digestion.

Soda contains phosphoric acid, which interferes with the body’s ability to absorb calcium and can lead to osteoporosis, and bone softening, in addition to the above mentioned teeth decay. Phosphoric acid also interacts with stomach acid, slowing digestion and blocking nutrient absorption.
