Former SPLA general turned rebel, Peter Gatdt Yak died of a heart attack on Monday in Khartoum.
According to Gordan Buay, a senior government official, Gatdet died in Khartoum after a heart attack.
“It is with heavy heart for me to learn the untimely passing of Gen. Peter Gatdet Yak, who had an heart attack in Khartoum an hour ago,” Gordan posted on social media.
We tried to contact Peter Gatdet relatives in Khartoum for comment but we failed to reach them.
Peter Gatdet Yak (or Gadet) is a former Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) general who is now the leader of the South Sudan Liberation Army (SSLA), a rebel movement.
He was born between 1957 and 1959 in Mayom County, South Sudan.
