JUBA – The deputy South Sudan minister of interior Mabior Garang de’Mabior has said that he is resigning to protest president Salva Kiir’s unwillingness to implement the provisions of the revitalized peace agreement.

Mabior Garang de’Mabior is the chairperson of the main armed opposition group, SPLM-IO, and he has on several occasions criticized the Kiir’s unwillingness to adhere to the peace implementation.

Mabior in his resignation letter seen by Sudans Post accused president Salva Kiir’s security forces of using extreme force against peaceful demonstrations which he said are “engulfing the country.”
