The commissioner of Dolo County in Jubek is asking the state government to establish a police post in the area.
This comes after a series of attacks in the county, located roughly 32 kilometers north-west of Juba.
The latest incident occurred last week when a family was attack by armed men, leaving two sisters dead, and bringing the death toll to 13.
Commissioner Lukudu Alhaj Nichola says there has never been a police station there.
However, Nichola says the four police officers who were assigned to the area abandoned the post 7 months ago.
“We don’t have even one policeman. We asked the Police Commissioner to give us police but we were given only four police officers and all of them have left,” Nichola told Eye Radio.
He said he has shared the concern with the state police department but nothing has been done so far.
Eye Radio’s attempts to reach the Jubek government for comment were not immediately successful.
