Meet Check B, the singer behind ‘SOKO’ hit song

Born in 1993 in a family of two, Oromo Alfred Odiha, who goes by his stage name Check B, started his music arts career back in 2008 when he was an entertainer as well as a dancer. He recorded his first song in 2015.

Check B Magiic is currently signed under the American based South Sudanese music record label, Ruka Music, which is owned by Dynamq. He has in the past been signed under other music record levels.

He was once signed to Silver X’s record label, Holyland Music Empire but parted away and formed his own music label. He then later went back to Holyland. This year saw him move from Holyland to Ruka Music.

Some of his past musical works include Women, Survivor, Question Mark, Naz Tabanin and Sakana ta Juba among others.
His latest hit “Soko” which has been banging on the speakers in the recent past has seen him win the hearts of many music fans across South Sudan, from taking the media by storm to gaining a massive following as well.
With his Afro-Dancehall style of music, Check B is soon to become a big media sensation, not forgetting the fact that he is a multi-genre artist.

He has currently been nominated for the South Sudanese Talent Youth Awards 2018/2019 edition under the Best Male Artist of the Year and Best New Artist of Year categories. His new hit “Soko” has been nominated under the Best Song of the Year category.

He has also performed to crowds across South Sudan to as far as Uganda alongside various South Sudanese musicians when he was invited to the Wehida Festival.

With only 4 years in the music industry, the Torit born artist says he is overwhelmed with his rise. He adds that his music is inspirational, motivational, educative and entertaining. “Music is a powerful redemption for souls”, he says.
