(AWEIL) – The citizens of Northern Bahr el Ghazal said that they have been cut off by flooding from traveling to Aweil town.

They said that Aweil town has been disconnected with Nyamlel from West and Gok Machar in the north by flooding that has movement impossible.

The residents of Nyamlel and Gok Machar are calling on the state government, national government and humanitarian agencies to intervene.

Aweil town is a hub of institutions which include better healthcare centers, education and commodities. 

In July, more than 5,000 people have reportedly displaced within Aweil town. Three people were confirmed dead in house collapsed. This was reported by the South Sudan Red Cross in Aweil Branch.

Aweil haS been experiencing heavy downpours since July this year.
