The South Sudan Football Associations (SSFA) has pulled out the two teams that were slated to feature in the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup and the Cecafa U-17 Women’s Challenge Cup in Uganda.

Francis Amin Michael, the SSFA President said they decided to pull out because they did not have the funds that were required to participate in the tournament.

“We shall participate next year when we have the money. We have stopped the teams that have been training,” added a disappointed Amin.

Besides South Sudan, Ethiopia and guest side Democratic Republic of Congo also pulled out of the tournament leaving only nine teams to tussle it out.

“We wish to bring to your attention that we knock-out DR Congo, Ethiopia and South Sudan because they could not fulfill some obligations passed by the CECAFA consultative meeting in Addis Ababa early this year,” said Musonye.

The Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup win run December 7-19th in Kampala, while the Cecafa U-17 Women’s Challenge Cup is slated for December 9-18th.

Group A: Uganda, Burundi, Eritrea, Somalia, Djibouti

Group B: Tanzania, Sudan, Kenya, Zanzibar
