Where logistics gaps are identified, WFP, as the lead agency of the Logistics Cluster, acts as a Provider of Last Resort by offering common logistics services to support the humanitarian community in their response operations.

Operational Highlights

  • Duringthe month, the Logistics Cluster coordinated 7 inter-agency convoys for 13 organisations transporting humanitarian supplies along the Western Corridor and throughout Jonglei State, reaching Pibor for the second time this year.

  • The Logistics Cluster transported 97 mt of relief items to seven locations for 13 organisations via its Beyond Bentiu and Beyond Wau responses through IOM Common Transport Service trucks. The Beyond responses help the Logistics Cluster reduce reliance on costly air operations.
