UNHCR: More than 1,000 South Sudanese on death row in Sudan prisons

The representative of the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) in Sudan, Shul Mellig Deng, says that about 1,020 South Sudanese nationals are in Sudan’s prisons after being sentenced to death pending payment of blood money. Shul Deng also says that 50 South Sudanese women are serving life sentences for drug-related cases.
